Royal Decree 85/2026 repeals the previous curriculum of Royal Decree 1079/2012 and establishes a new professional certificate for the installation and maintenance of elevators. It defines the curriculum and the Grade A and B offerings, aiming to modernise vocational training in this sector. Companies that fail to adapt their training within the established timeframe could face fines of up to €7,500 for non-compliance (Art. 4).

Vocational training advisors must update their guides and recommendations to reflect the new certificate.
