The Resolution of 26 January 2026 establishes that succession pacts for improvement granted by German nationals may be registered in the Land Registries of A Coruña through the application of Galician civil law status (vecindad civil gallega). This criterion allows for the acceptance of the document within the context of cross-border inheritance, provided the pact is subject to Regulation (EU) No 650/2012. The deadline for submitting the application is 30 days from the date of notification of the appeal (Art. 3).
For German nationals entering into succession pacts for improvement, the possibility of registration in Galician registries via civil law status is now available, facilitating the recognition of these documents in cross-border inheritances. Registry administrations may manage these cases under the framework of Regulation (EU) 650/2012.
