Royal Decree 397/2026 repeals RD 96/2019 and amends the judicial mutual aid regulation by adding Section 6 to Chapter V. Staff must update their mutual aid schemes within three months, otherwise fines of up to 15,000 euros will apply (Art. 5). This reform reorganises social protection for judicial staff in line with Law 40/2015.
Officials from the Judicial Administration lose access to the mutual aid system established under Royal Decree 96/2019. Autonomous bodies relying on this regime must adjust their processes, especially in disability claims and pensions handled by the Judicial Mutual Aid Organisation (art. 2).
