National Plant Health and Hygiene Laboratory designated as reference laboratory for E. coli detection in live bivalve molluscs

The Directorate-General for Fisheries Management and Aquaculture has designated the National Plant Health and Hygiene Laboratory (LNSVH) as the national reference laboratory for detecting E. coli in live bivalve molluscs in production areas (First). This designation is made in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2017/625 on official controls on food and feed (Art. 100). The laboratory holds UNE-EN ISO/IEC 17025:2005 accreditation for the enumeration of Escherichia coli using the ISO 16649-3 method (Fourth).
