This amendment was unanimously approved by its regulatory council and has received favourable reports from the autonomous communities of Navarra and the Basque Country (art. 8.2 RD 1335/2011). The resolution confirms that the changes comply with Regulation (EU) 2024/1143.

In 2 key points

  2. An administrative appeal (recurso de alzada) may be lodged against this resolution within one month (Tercero)

How it affects those involved

For Idiazabal PDO producers and the regulatory council, this resolution validates the technical changes to their product specification, allowing the processing procedure to continue (art. 4.2 Delegated Regulation (EU) 2025/27). As this is a standard amendment, no opposition period was required. The new product specification is available for consultation on the website of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food.
