The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food has granted Plant Breeders' Rights for specific varieties of rapeseed (Brassica Napus Oleifera) and chickpea (Cicer Arietinum L.), in accordance with the powers conferred by Article 32 of Law 3/2000. This measure formalises the protection of the 'Ranger', 'Ruppert' and 'Isidra' varieties in the Register of Protected Varieties.

In 2 key points

  1. Protection of rapeseed varieties (Ranger and Ruppert) until 31-12-2051 (Annex I) (Anexo I)
  2. Protection of the chickpea variety (Isidra) until 31-12-2051 (Annex I) (Anexo I)

How it affects those involved

For the applicants Rapsodie, S.A.S. and IMIDRA-CC. AA. Madrid, the regulation guarantees the protection of their plant varieties until 31 December 2051 (Annex I).
