Ministry of the Interior: update to rules for the preservation and disposal of documentary series

This resolution approves, reviews, and updates the retention schedules and regimes for various documentary series within the Ministry of the Interior. The regulation establishes custody periods, transfer timelines to archives, and disposal criteria for documents that have lost their administrative or historical value, in accordance with Law 16/1985 on Spanish Historical Heritage.

How it affects those involved

The resolution has no direct impact on the activities of companies or individuals, as it exclusively regulates the internal document management of the Administration. Its effect is purely organisational for the Ministry of the Interior's producing units, determining which files (such as those concerning credit modifications or lease expenses) must be preserved, transferred to the General Archive of the Administration, or destroyed once their custody periods have expired.
