Assessment is split equally between academic performance (50%) and sporting performance (50%) (Fifth).

  1. Secondary Category: those born in 2007, 2008, 2009, or 2010 currently studying ESO, Bachillerato, or Intermediate Vocational Training (First.1). (Primero.1)
  2. Higher Education Category: those studying for a Degree, Master's, Doctorate, Higher Vocational Training, or Higher Artistic Studies (First.2). (Primero.2)
  3. Evaluation criteria: 50% academic performance and 50% sporting performance (Fifth). (Quinto)

How it affects those involved

For young athletes in secondary or higher education, this represents an opportunity to gain recognition for their dual career path (First). Autonomous Communities and autonomous cities act as intermediaries, being responsible for selecting and submitting a single candidate per category (Second.1). The Higher Sports Council will cover travel expenses if an official award ceremony is held (Sixth).
