University collaboration scholarships 2026/27: approval of credit distribution and territorial allocation

The General Conference on University Policy has approved the territorial distribution and credit allocation criteria for student collaboration scholarships in university departments for the 2026/2027 academic year. The maximum budget for this program is 4,862,000 euros, covering up to 2,431 scholarships with an individual amount of 2,000 euros (art. 12 RD 179/2026). It is confirmed that the management of these scholarships in Catalonia has been transferred to the Generalitat, while the rest of the national territory (except the Basque Country) maintains centralized management by the Ministry (Agreement of July 10, 2026).

The availability of university scholarships depends on geographic location: autonomous management in Catalonia, economic agreement system in the Basque Country, and centralised administration elsewhere. The state budget is limited to €4.862 million for a maximum of 2,431 beneficiaries. Autonomous communities managing the scholarships must adhere to distribution criteria set by the Sectoral Conference.
