A taxpayer inquired whether they could apply for a capital gains tax exemption for the sale of their main residence, having turned 65 shortly after the transfer. The Directorate General for Taxes (DGT) ruled that this is not possible, as the exemption requires the taxpayer to have reached the required age at the time of the transfer.
