In short

In BMC One Legal, every matter has its case file with its phases, status and dates, and a BMC lawyer handles it.

Commercial contracts, confidentiality agreements and authorisations are signed from your email with BMC Sign: each document carries BMC's advanced electronic seal, a qualified timestamp and a QR code that anyone can check.

Every day we check the BORME, insolvency filings for your customers and suppliers, your court deadlines and sanctions lists; BMC One comes with your engagement, and you start with a free first meeting.

Questions about Legal

Can I sign commercial contracts electronically with BMC Sign?

Yes. BMC Sign is for private documents: commercial contracts, shareholder agreements, confidentiality agreements, authorisations and the engagement letter. Each signer receives a link and signs with a code sent by email or SMS, by hand or with their own certificate, in their language. Deeds and powers of attorney are still signed before a notary or at a consulate.

If you need a lawyer to draft or negotiate them, see our commercial contracts and shareholders' agreement services.

Is a BMC Sign electronic signature legally valid?

It depends on how you sign: with a code by email or SMS, by hand or with your own certificate. Each document carries BMC's advanced electronic seal, with a qualified FNMT certificate, a qualified timestamp and a QR code to check it. It is not a qualified signature, but an electronic signature cannot be denied legal effect or admissibility as evidence solely because it is electronic.

Sources: Regulation (EU) No 910/2014 (eIDAS), art. 25.1

Can I send my own documents for signature?

Yes, if your account has BMC Sign: with your templates, your sender name and your brand and, if you switch it on, with approval from another person in your company before sending. Before signing, each signer is screened against sanctions lists. Each account has a monthly envelope limit.

Is a certified communication the same as a burofax?

It is not a postal burofax (the Spanish certified letter with proof of content). From BMC One you send notices, formal demands or claims, and a record sealed by BMC proves the content, the date and the recipient of the sending, not its receipt or reading. It is admissible as evidence, and our team can also send it for you with the same record.

If the formal demand is not enough, the claim is handled by our litigation and arbitration team.

How are court deadlines tracked in a dispute?

Your lawyer calculates each procedural deadline according to the branch of jurisdiction, taking August and public holidays into account, and saves it in your case file. Every morning they receive alerts 7, 3 and 1 day before, on the day it falls due and if it has passed. The alerts go to your BMC lawyer, who decides the next steps and tells you what affects you.

For the dispute itself, see disputes and dispute resolution with a BMC lawyer.

Who sees my identity documents?

Only BMC's compliance team, who check them one by one: there is no facial recognition and no automatic reading. You upload them once from your portal, and we notify you in your client area before your verification expires. The law requires them to be kept for 10 years from the end of the relationship (art. 25.1 of Law 10/2010).

Sources: Law 10/2010, art. 25 (BOE)

If your company processes customer or employee data, see our data protection and privacy service.

Will I be told if a customer or supplier becomes insolvent?

The BMC person who manages your account is told. Every morning we check your customers and suppliers against the Public Insolvency Register; if one appears, that person knows and tells you if it affects you. Anyone can also check whether a company is in insolvency proceedings with the public insolvency checker on our website.

You can use it now: the public insolvency checker.

Does artificial intelligence decide anything in my matter?

No. We use it to organise documents and prepare compliance screening on our own servers, without external AI providers. The one who decides, signs and files is always a person on our team, and no assistant connected to BMC One signs for you or acts before a court or a registry.
