The highest of three values must be applied for property valuation in Wealth Tax

A query was raised regarding which value should be applied to a property acquired through inheritance for Wealth Tax purposes. The DGT indicates that the highest of three values must be used: the cadastral value, the value verified by the Administration, or the acquisition value.

The DGT's ruling

Para el cómputo de bienes urbanos o rústicos, se debe tomar el mayor de tres valores: el valor catastral, el comprobado por la Administración para otros tributos o el precio o valor de adquisición. Esta determinación se realiza al 31 de diciembre de cada año. Si el valor de adquisición es superior al catastral y no hay un valor comprobado mayor, se aplicará el de adquisición.
