IRPF · retribución en especie

The health insurance exemption applies only to the portion of the premium borne by the company as benefits in kind

An employee inquired whether health insurance premiums paid by the company for themselves and their children qualify for Personal Income Tax (IRPF) exemptions. The Directorate General for Taxes (DGT) ruled that the portion paid by the employer constitutes exempt benefits in kind (subject to limits), whereas the portion deducted from the employee's salary is considered a payment mediation for cash income.

Analysis pending. This ruling has been identified and indexed by the automatic ingestion system. BMC's team will complete the plain-language analysis within 24 hours. You may access the official source in the meantime.
