The acquisition value for Personal Income Tax is determined by the actual amount paid, not by the value verification procedure

A taxpayer asks whether an increase in the value of a property following a value verification procedure for Transfer Tax affects the calculation of the acquisition value for Personal Income Tax. The DGT responds that it has no impact, as the acquisition value must be the actual amount effectively paid.

The question raised

Question posed: Impact of the value verification procedure on the calculation of the acquisition value in the event of the sale of the property.

The DGT's ruling

The acquisition value for Personal Income Tax is composed of the actual amount for which the acquisition was made, plus investments, improvements, expenses, and inherent taxes. The increase in value resulting from a value verification procedure carried out by the Administration for Transfer Tax does not affect Personal Income Tax, as the acquisition value is based on the amounts effectively paid.
