Interests on a German account are imputed to the period of recognition in the account

A Spanish resident asks when interest from a German bank account, not subject to withholding tax, must be declared. The DGT states that interest is imputed to the period in which it becomes due or is recognised in the account, and the taxpayer must declare it if the exemption thresholds for untaxed income are not met.
