Fishing vessels: distribution of catches for scientific purposes for the 2026 campaign

The General Secretariat of Fisheries establishes the annual distribution of catch percentages for scientific purposes for the 2026 campaign (Art. 2). The resolution determines which vessels may access these catches based on the requested stocks and sets the verification requirements for the attribution to be effective (Art. 4). Vessels that exceed their assigned quotas are excluded from the current distribution (Art. 2).

How it affects those involved

For shipowners and vessels authorised for voluntary scientific campaigns, specific scientific catch quantities are assigned per stock (Annex I). Vessels that have exceeded their assigned quotas will not be able to access the distribution under this resolution (Art. 2). Vessels excluded due to lack of documentation or non-compliance with requirements will not be able to count these catches (Annex II).
