Demersal longline vessels: redistribution of southern hake quotas for 2026 due to material error

The General Secretariat for Fisheries has amended the Resolution of 27 January 2026 to rectify a material error in the distribution of southern hake quotas (stock HKE/8C3411). The amendment corrects the allocation of kilograms for the vessel 'Ana Jesús', which has been permanently decommissioned, by redistributing its quota among the remaining authorised vessels in the census permitted to fish in the Cantabrian and North-West fishing grounds during 2026 (Annex I).

In 3 key points

  1. Redistribution of the 'Ana Jesús' quota (permanently decommissioned) among the rest of the census (Annex I). (Primero)
  2. The resolution takes effect for the entire 2026 fishing season (Second). (Segundo)
  3. One-month period to lodge an administrative appeal (recurso de alzada) before the Minister (Articles 121 and 122 of Law 39/2015) (Second). (Segundo)

How it affects those involved

For owners and operators of demersal longline vessels in the Cantabrian and North-West fishing grounds, this regulation updates their individual southern hake quotas for the 2026 season following the redistribution of the 'Ana Jesús' quota (Annex I). Affected vessels will see their catch capacity modified according to the new list. The resolution takes effect for the entire 2026 fishing season (Second).
