The Catalan Wine Institute has favourably resolved the standard amendment to the product specification for the Catalonia Protected Designation of Origin (DOP), following the opposition period which concluded without any objections (Art. 26.7 Law 2/2020). This resolution updates the rules governing production and marketing under this designation. The file will be forwarded to the Ministry of Agriculture for communication to the European Commission (Art. 4).
For producers and companies linked to DOP Cataluña, this resolution validates the new production and control rules contained in the amended specification, which must be consulted to ensure regulatory compliance (Art. 3). As no objections were filed during the opposition period, the amendment is final at the regional level.
