Renewable generation companies: resolution of the grid access tender at the Narcea 400 kV node

The State Secretariat for Energy has resolved the public tender for the granting of grid evacuation access capacity at the Narcea 400 kV just transition node. The procedure, regulated by Order TED/1471/2024, manages the capacity available for synchronous generation modules (MGES) and electrical plants (MPE) (First Recitals). The resolution results from the technical, economic, and socio-economic impact evaluation of the admitted applications (Fourth Recitals).

In 2 key points

  1. Available capacity of 354 MW for MGES modules and 354 MW for MPE modules at the Narcea 400 kV node, First Recitals. (Antecedentes Primero)
  2. Alternative capacity of up to 154 MW at the Narcea 132 kV node and 27 MW at the Vega de Rengos 50 kV node, First Recitals. (Antecedentes Primero)

How it affects those involved

For the participating commercial companies (CDR Buseiro, SL; La Barca Energía, SL; and EDP España, SAU), this resolution determines their right of access to the transmission or distribution grid at the Narcea node (Second Recitals). The process validates the evacuation capacity for renewable projects, subject to the technical evaluation by Red Eléctrica de España, SA and the environmental and socio-economic impact of the facilities (Fourth Recitals).
