Electricity distribution companies: approval of grant amounts for 2022 investments

The grant amounts funded by the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan for investments made by electricity distribution companies during 2022 have been approved. These grants are intended for the digitalisation and automation of networks ('Type 2' installations) and the installation of public access electric vehicle charging points with a power output exceeding 250 kW (Art. 7 of RD 1125/2021).

In 2 key points

  1. Grants intended for network digitalisation and electric vehicle charging points > 250 kW, Art. 7 RD 1125/2021 (art. 7 del Real Decreto 1125/2021)
  2. One month period to file an administrative appeal for reversal before the Secretariat of State for Energy, Art. 46.1 Law 29/1998 (art. 46.1 de la Ley 29/1998)

How it affects those involved

For the electricity distribution companies listed in the annex, this resolution formalises the right to receive the approved grants for their investments in digitalisation and electric vehicle charging. The impact is purely economic and relates to the management of European funds, enabling the recovery of investments made during the 2021-2023 period under the eligibility criteria of RD 1125/2021.
