Renewable energy companies: tender results for grid access at the Meirama 220 kV node

Order TED/578/2026 resolves the public tender for the granting of access and evacuation capacity to the electricity grid at the Meirama 220 kV just transition node. The procedure, previously regulated by Order TED/1469/2024, evaluates renewable generation applications based on socioeconomic criteria, facility maturity, and environmental impact (First and Second Recitals). The maximum capacity subject to this tender is 408 MW for synchronous modules, of which 153 MW may be for power plant modules (First Recital).

In 3 key points

  1. Maximum access capacity at the Meirama 220 kV node: 408 MW for synchronous modules (153 MW for power plant modules), First Recital. (Antecedentes Primero)
  2. The evaluation includes socioeconomic impact criteria such as total jobs, training, and the percentage of female employment, Criteria B. (Criterios B)
  3. Maturity criteria such as land ownership and birdlife studies are assessed, Criteria C. (Criterios C)

How it affects those involved

For energy sector companies participating in the tender, the resolution determines the allocation of evacuation capacity following the evaluation of their technical and economic documentation (Second and Third Recitals). Impact is measured through a score integrating employment commitments, investment in the province of A Coruña, and the minimisation of environmental impact (Criteria B, C, and D). Admitted applications were subject to reports by Red Eléctrica de España, SA, to validate the technical information provided (Fourth Recital).
