FIAP and INE: signing of a framework agreement for cooperation in matters of common interest

The Foundation for the Internationalisation of Public Administrations (FIAP) and the National Statistics Institute (INE) have signed a framework agreement to coordinate efforts and enable joint cooperation in matters of common interest. The agreement aims to improve the institutional framework and the functioning of public systems through the exchange of experiences and the management of cooperation projects (Annex). The agreement is published in compliance with Article 48.8 of Law 40/2015.

In 3 key points

  1. Cooperation in matters of common interest between the FIAP and the INE (Anexo)
  2. Personal data will be processed in accordance with data protection regulations and will be kept according to applicable retention periods (Anexo, apartado 9)
  3. The agreement does not permit access to or communication of data protected by the INE's statistical secrecy (Anexo, apartado 9.3)

How it affects those involved

The regulation does not create direct obligations for the private sector, companies, or individuals, as it is a collaboration agreement between two public sector bodies.
