Companies in Canary Islands can increase live entertainment deduction by 80%

A live entertainment company in the Canary Islands inquires about the maximum deduction amount and its impact on financiers. The DGT clarifies that if expenses are incurred in the Canary Islands, both the rate and the limit of the deduction are subject to the special Canary Islands fiscal regime.

The DGT's ruling

For the deduction under Article 36.3 of the LIS, if the expenses are incurred in the Canary Islands, the deduction rate is 80% higher than the common regime and the maximum limit is also increased by 80%. However, these Canary Islands incentives do not apply if the expenses forming the basis of the deduction are not incurred in the archipelago. The financier may apply the deduction generated by the producer with the limit of multiplying the amounts contributed by 1.20.
