IRPF · exención por reinversión

Reinvestment exemption cannot be applied if the property was not the main residence in the two years prior to sale

A taxpayer inquired whether they could apply for the reinvestment exemption after selling a property that had been their home until 2013, but in which they only resumed residence in 2016. The Directorate General for Taxes (DGT) ruled that this is not possible because the property did not meet the requirement of being the main residence at the time of transfer or during the two preceding years.

The question raised

The DGT's ruling
