IRPF · exención por reinversión

Reinvestment exemption cannot be applied if the sold property was not the primary residence in the two years prior to sale

A taxpayer inquired whether they could apply the reinvestment exemption after selling a property that ceased to be their primary residence in 2017 due to a job transfer. The Directorate General for Taxes (DGT) ruled that this is not possible because the property was neither the primary residence at the time of sale nor during the two preceding years.

The question raised

The DGT's ruling
