Reinvestment exemption for principal residence may apply if new home was purchased up to two years before selling the old one

A taxpayer purchased a property in Spain using a loan and subsequently sold their principal residence in the United Kingdom to partially repay said loan. The Directorate General for Taxes (DGT) ruled that the reinvestment exemption can be applied, provided that the requirements for principal residence and the established timeframes are met.
