Reinvestment exemption for main residence requires full ownership of the reinvested portion

A taxpayer inquired whether the exemption for reinvestment in a main residence could be applied when selling a 50% share of a property and reinvesting the proceeds into a new home where they would hold full usufruct and 50% bare ownership. The Directorate General for Taxes (DGT) ruled that the exemption will only apply proportionally to the portion of the residence for which the taxpayer holds full ownership.
