This Royal Decree modifies property transferred to the Basque Autonomous Community under Royal Decree 474/2021, effective from 4 May 2026. It is based on the Basque Autonomy Statute and Royal Decree 2339/1980, and concerns immovable assets used for penal institutions in the Basque Country.
The management of immovable prison assets will be transferred to Basque prison institutions from 4 May 2026, with the State Administration ceasing to manage these assets. This directly impacts Basque prison institutions and administrative functions tied to property management as specified in art. 10.14, 12, transitional provision 2 of the Statute, and art. 79 of Organic Law 1/1979.
