Patients and users must access health services in Galicia with violence prevention measures, within 30 days of publication

The law amends Galician Health Law 8/2008 by introducing integral prevention and protection measures against violence in health services. Patients and users are required to access services with such measures, as provided in art. 13.2 of the Galician Statute (Law 1/1981). This change aims to strengthen protection in high-risk contexts.

In 2 key points

  1. Patients and healthcare users must access healthcare services with violence prevention measures (art. 13.2 del Estatuto de Galicia (Ley Orgánica 1/1981))
  2. The regulation amends Galicia's Health Law 8/2008 to include integral prevention measures (texto fuente)

How it affects those involved

Patients and healthcare users in Galicia must be aware of and use new violence prevention measures. Healthcare administrations must implement these prevention measures, especially in primary care centres. Access to services with prevention protocols reduces exposure risk to violence. No changes to sanctions or healthcare staff regulations.
