White pig sector: exceptional increase in mandatory contributions from May to August 2026

This Order amends Order APA/861/2024 to exceptionally increase the mandatory economic contributions of the white pig sector. The increase responds to the need to bolster resources dedicated to the prevention of African Swine Fever (ASF) following its outbreak in Spain (sole article). The measure aims to support the sustainability and health of the sector in response to the crisis caused by this disease.

In 3 key points

  1. Production contribution increased to EUR 0.265 per live adult pig (sole article.1) (art. único.1)
  2. Slaughter and marketing contribution increased to EUR 0.265 per adult pig (sole article.2) (art. único.2)
  3. The exceptional increase applies from 1 May 2026 to 31 August 2026 (sole article) (art. único)

How it affects those involved

For white pig producers and marketers, the per-animal quotas will increase significantly over a four-month period. Both production and slaughter/marketing contributions will rise from EUR 0.055 to EUR 0.265 per live adult pig (sole article). This extraordinary increase represents a greater temporary financial burden on the sector to fund sanitary prevention measures.
