An agreement has been formalised between the Government of Peru and the Government of Spain for the mutual recognition of training and qualifications for seafarers (Art. 1). This agreement is established in accordance with the Convention of 7 July 1978. The objective is to facilitate mobility and the recognition of professional competencies within the maritime navigation sector between both countries.
For seafarers from Peru, this agreement allows for the recognition of their professional qualifications and training in Spain, facilitating their integration into the Spanish maritime sector. For shipping companies, it ensures the validity of the training of Peruvian crew members under the agreed standards. The framework complies with International Maritime Organization regulations.
