People with ALS or complex diseases: 3 months to adapt personal assistance and home care services

This resolution corrects errors in a prior publication and establishes the adaptation of personal assistance and home care services for people with ALS or complex diseases with irreversible course, in accordance with Law 3/2024. It is based on the Agreement of the Territorial Council of Social Services dated 9 December 2025, and applies to beneficiaries of Law 3/2024 (arts. 19 and 23 of Law 39/2006). The aim is to improve quality of life through personalized services.

In 2 key points

  1. Personal and home support services are adapted for individuals with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis or complex medical conditions (art. 19 y 23 de la Ley 39/2006)
  2. The resolution corrects errors in the publication of 18 December 2025 (Resolución de 4 de febrero de 2026)

How it affects those involved

For individuals with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis or complex medical conditions, appropriate access to personalised care and home support services is guaranteed. Social authorities must update their care protocols to include these adaptations. Advisors and families should be informed about the new benefit criteria. The change does not involve direct costs, but requires the reorganisation of existing services.
