Businesses and individuals: 10 days to update official exchange rates

The Bank of Spain resolution publishes euro exchange rates as of February 10, 2026, approved by the ECB, which now have official status (Art. 36 of Law 46/1998). These rates replace previous ones and must be used in financial operations, contracts, and official communications.

In 2 key points

  1. Official exchange rates are updated daily by the ECB (Article 36 of Law 46/1998) (art. 36 Ley 46/1998)
  2. 1 euro = 1.1894 US dollars (official rate as of 10/02/2026) (CAMBIOS)

How it affects those involved

Business operators, individuals and public administrations carrying out international transactions must update their financial calculations with the new exchange rates. Traders and financial services providers lose accuracy if they continue using outdated rates. Finance advisors should review their reports and contracts to ensure updates are made. Companies operating in multiple currencies must reassess their costs and profits.
