Businesses and individuals: 30 days to update official euro exchange rates

The Bank of Spain resolution publishes official euro exchange rates as of December 31, 2025, in accordance with Article 36 of Law 46/1998. These rates, such as 1 euro = 1.1750 USD, are now official for administrative and financial purposes. The update impacts all users requiring official exchange rates for commercial, accounting, or currency conversion operations.

In 2 key points

  1. 1 euro = 1.1750 US dollars (art. 36 Law 46/1998) (art. 36 Ley 46/1998)
  2. Official rates published on 31 December 2025 (art. 36 Law 46/1998) (art. 36 Ley 46/1998)

How it affects those involved

Business operators and individuals carrying out financial or commercial transactions must update their calculations using the new official rates from 31 December. Companies operating in foreign currency must review their accounts and contracts. Financial advisers must incorporate the new rates into their reports and recommendations. The Bank of Spain does not alter operational conditions, only establishes the official rates.
