An agreement has been reached to amend the Telefónica Global Units Collective Agreement in Spain to integrate the so-called 'R&D Collective' (Art. 1). This collective consists of workers subrogated from Telefónica Investigación y Desarrollo, SAU to Telefónica Innovación Digital, SLU (Art. 1). The agreement establishes the transition from the national engineering agreement to the Global Units Agreement, effective from 1 October 2026 (Art. 2 and 15).

In 3 key points

  1. Application of the Global Units Agreement from 1 October 2026 (Art. 2 and 15). (art. 2ª)
  2. Economic effects of the regularisation of seniority and pension scheme from 1 January 2027 (Art. 2). (art. 2ª)
  3. Maintenance of 'Travel Management' conditions until 31 December 2030 (Art. 13). (art. 13ª)

How it affects those involved

For the R&D Collective (workers subrogated from R&D to Telefónica Innovación Digital), the change involves replacing the engineering agreement with the Global Units Agreement (Art. 15). In economic terms, the regularisation of seniority and the pension scheme will take effect from 1 January 2027 (Art. 2). A time limit has been set for certain conditions, such as travel management, which will remain in place until 31 December 2030 (Art. 13).
