Businesses and individuals: one month to update official euro exchange rates

The Bank of Spain's resolution publishes the new euro exchange rates against the dollar and other currencies, set by the ECB on 29 January 2026. These rates are now official and must be used in financial transactions, contracts, and commercial communications. The update follows Article 36 of Law 46/1998 on the Introduction of the Euro.

In 2 key points

  1. 1 euro = 1.1968 US dollars (official rate from 29/01/2026) (CAMBIOS)
  2. The changes are official pursuant to Article 36 of Law 46/1998 (art. 36 Ley 46/1998)

How it affects those involved

Businesses, companies and individuals carrying out international transactions must update their exchange rates to avoid errors in pricing, invoicing or payments. Authorities and financial managers must incorporate the new rates into their calculation systems. Finance advisors must inform their clients about the new rates to ensure accuracy in commercial calculations.
