Part-time university teaching staff: research activity assessment no longer contingent on full-time status

This resolution amends the research activity assessment call approved on 11 December 2025 to align it with Supreme Court Ruling 664/2025. The amendment removes the restriction that conditioned the research activity assessment of part-time teaching staff on economic effects only arising upon transitioning to full-time dedication (modifying point 3.1.c of the annex to the specific rules).

In 1 key point

  1. Part-time teaching staff may undergo research activity assessment without restrictions regarding their dedication regime (punto 3.1.c del anexo de bases específicas)

How it affects those involved

For civil servant university teaching staff on part-time contracts, the barrier limiting their participation in research activity assessments has been removed. They may now undergo such assessments regardless of whether their dedication regime changes to full-time, following the Supreme Court's declaration of nullity regarding Royal Decree 1086/1989.
