Supreme Court: changes to the composition of the Second Chamber and the list of reporting judges for 2026

The Agreement of the Governing Council of the Supreme Court modifies the composition of the Second Chamber and the list of reporting judges, ordered by seniority, for the 2026 judicial year. The new composition of the Second Chamber, effective from 23 June 2026 to 31 December 2026, includes President Andrés Martínez Arrieta and magistrates Pablo Larena Conde and Carmen Lamela Díaz (Second Chamber, section A.1.2).

In 2 key points

  1. Composition of the Second Chamber from 23 June to 31 December 2026 (President Martínez Arrieta, magistrates Larena Conde and Lamela Díaz) (Sala Segunda, apartado A.1, número 2)
  2. Modification of the list of reporting judges by seniority (sections D, E and F) (Sala Segunda, apartado 2)

How it affects those involved

The regulation has a purely internal organisational effect on the Judiciary, modifying the structure of the Second Chamber and the order of reporting judges for the assignment of cases during the remainder of the 2026 judicial year. It does not create obligations, rights, or procedural changes for companies, the self-employed, or individuals in their litigation.
