Instructions for the 2026-2027 Bachibac double degree external examination for Year 13 students

The State Secretariat for Education has issued instructions for the external examination of the Bachiller-Baccalauréat double degree programme for the 2026-2027 academic year. Students who pass this examination will receive the Baccalauréat degree, awarded by the French Ministry of National Education, in addition to their Spanish Bachiller degree (Art. 8.2 RD 102/2010). The resolution delegates the setting of deadlines, locations, and appeals procedures to the respective educational authorities (First.2).

In 2 key points

  1. Only one examination session is permitted per academic year, except for the extraordinary session in proven cases of force majeure (First.2). (Primero.2)
  2. Educational authorities must issue instructions regarding deadlines, locations, and examination dates (Second.1). (Segundo.1)

How it affects those involved

For Year 13 students in centres with a mixed curriculum, the regulation stipulates that they may only sit one ordinary examination session per academic year, with the extraordinary session limited to proven cases of force majeure (First.2). Educational authorities must issue their own instructions detailing registration deadlines and examination dates (Second.1). The assessment process will be conducted by boards comprising Spanish examiners and, if requested, French examiners (Second.2).
