Vehicles affected by restrictions: new driving measures in the Basque Country for the solar eclipse of 12 August 2026

The Traffic Directorate is amending the Resolution of 1 July 2026 to establish supplementary driving restrictions in the Basque Autonomous Community (Art. 1). These measures address the anticipated increase in travel due to the total solar eclipse on 12 August 2026, aiming to ensure road safety and traffic flow (Art. 1). Non-compliance with these restrictions will be penalised in accordance with the Consolidated Text of the Law on Traffic, Motor Vehicle Circulation and Road Safety (Art. 3).
