Insurance, reinsurance and mutual insurance companies: application of the new national collective agreement for 2025-2028

The new National General Collective Agreement for insurance, reinsurance, and mutual insurance companies collaborating with Social Security has been registered and published (Art. 1). The agreement, signed by UNESPA, AMAT, CEM, ASECORE, CCOO-Servicios, and UGT, regulates labour relations within this sector for the period between 2025 and 2028 (Preliminary Chapter).

In 3 key points

  1. Validity of the agreement for the period between 2025 and 2028 (Capítulo Preliminar)
  2. Exclusion of private insurance intermediaries and their external collaborators (Royal Decree-Law 3/2020) (art. 1.2.a)
  3. Exclusion of commercial or civil services (loss adjusters, lawyers, solicitors) (art. 1.2.c)

How it affects those involved

For insurance companies, reinsurers, reinsurance brokers, and mutual insurance companies, the agreement establishes the regulatory framework for labour relations over the next three years (Art. 1). Private insurance intermediaries subject to the Distribution Law (Royal Decree-Law 3/2020) are excluded from its application, as are professionals providing services of a commercial or civil nature, such as loss adjusters, lawyers, or solicitors (Art. 1.2).
