Cotton, hemp and textile flax producers: conditions and deadlines for agricultural insurance subscription

Order APA/21/2026 establishes the technical conditions, insurable assets, and guarantee periods for the insurance of industrial textile crop holdings under the Combined Agricultural Insurance Plan (Art. 1). The regulation governs coverage for cotton, hemp, and textile flax varieties, as well as irrigation facilities (Art. 1.1), while explicitly excluding experimental plots, seeds, or crops for self-consumption (Art. 1.2).

In 3 key points

  1. Subscription for cotton with non-emergence coverage: until 7 April (Art. 8.a) (art. 8.a)
  2. Subscription for textile flax and hemp: until 15 August, except in Alicante and Murcia until 30 June (Art. 8.c) (art. 8.c)
  3. Exclusion of coverage for experimental plots, seeds, or self-consumption (Art. 1.2) (art. 1.2)

How it affects those involved

For textile crop farmers, the regulation defines coverage limits, particularly by excluding experimental productions or those in a state of abandonment (Art. 1.2). Cotton producers must adhere to strict subscription deadlines ending between 7 April and 31 May, depending on the desired coverage (Art. 8). Flax and hemp producers have until 15 August to subscribe, except in Alicante and Murcia, where the deadline closes on 30 June (Art. 8).
