Businesses and individuals: one month to update official exchange rates from 11 June 2026

The Bank of Spain's resolution publishes new euro exchange rates against the dollar and other currencies, effective from 11 June 2026, as per Article 36 of Law 46/1998. These rates replace previous ones and must be used in financial transactions, contracts, and official communications. All users of foreign currencies in Spain are affected.

In 2 key points

  1. Official exchange rates are updated on 11 June 2026 (art. 36) (art. 36)
  2. New exchange rates must be used in financial transactions and contracts (art. 36) (art. 36)

How it affects those involved

Businesses, companies and individuals carrying out international transactions must update their pricing calculations, exchange rates and costs in invoices or contracts. Public authorities and financial services must incorporate the new rates into their calculation systems. Finance advisors must inform their clients about the changes to avoid conversion errors. The risk of pricing or cost misalignments may increase if updates are not made in a timely manner.
