The Directorate General of the Merchant Marine of Spain and the Maritime Authority of Ghana have formalised a commitment to recognise the training and certification of seafarers on Spanish-flagged vessels. This agreement is established in accordance with the Convention of 7 July 1978 (BOE-A-1984-24729) and aims to facilitate crew operationality under international maritime safety standards.
For seafarers working on Spanish-flagged vessels, the agreement facilitates the validation of their professional training and certifications within the framework of the relationship with Ghana. The maritime authorities of both countries have established a mutual recognition channel that ensures compliance with the safety of life at sea and International Maritime Organization standards.
