Businesses and individuals: 3 months to update official exchange rates or deviation risk

The Bank of Spain's resolution publishes the official euro exchange rates for 9 June 2026 as set by the ECB, effective under Law 46/1998 (art. 36). These rates replace previous ones and must be used in financial, international trade, and foreign payment operations.

In 2 key points

  1. Official euro exchange rates are updated daily by the ECB and come into effect from the date of publication (Art. 36 Law 46/1998) (art. 36 Ley 46/1998)
  2. 1 euro = 1.1573 US dollars (and other rates detailed in the text) (CAMBIOS)

How it affects those involved

Businesses and companies conducting international operations must update their foreign exchange pricing and cost calculations using the new official rates. Individuals making foreign exchange payments or purchasing foreign goods must also use the updated rates. Financial institutions must adjust their internal systems to reflect the new exchange rates. Financial advisers must inform their clients about the change and its implications for profit and loss calculations.
