Fishery product traders: update to the list of permitted commercial names in Spain

The General Secretariat for Fisheries has published a new list of permitted commercial names for fishery and aquaculture species in Spain, in accordance with Royal Decree 1082/2025 and Regulation (EU) 1379/2013. This resolution repeals the previous list published on 25 February 2026, establishing a new framework of valid names for commercialisation.

In 2 key points

  1. The new list of commercial names enters into force with effect from 11 June 2026 (ANALISIS)
  2. Repeals the Resolution of 25 February 2026 (BOE-A-2026-5518) (ANALISIS)

How it affects those involved

Stakeholders in the fishery and aquaculture sectors (traders, wholesalers, and retailers) must ensure that the names used on product labelling and sales match the newly published list to avoid infringements for using non-permitted names. The transition from the previous list takes effect from 11 June 2026.
