The Directorate-General for Biodiversity, Forests and Desertification has added a new base material for the production of forest reproductive material (FRM) under the 'identified' category for the species 'Abies pinsapo' (Art. 7.2 RD 289/2003) to the National Catalogue of Base Materials. Located in the Orcajo area (Zaragoza), this material has been authorised by the Government of Aragon for use in multifunctional forestry.
For forest reproductive material producers, the inclusion of this new base material in Aragon allows for the production of 'Abies pinsapo' FRM under the 'identified' category (Art. 7.2 RD 289/2003). This expands the genetic origin options for reforestation projects and multifunctional forestry within the region.
