Radon gas mitigation works may qualify for 10% VAT as renovation and repair subject to certain requirements

A company has requested clarification on whether works to expel radon gas from dwellings can benefit from the reduced 10% VAT rate. The DGT indicates that, provided they do not constitute rehabilitation works, they may be taxed at 10% as renovation and repair if the recipient is an individual or a community of owners and the cost of materials does not exceed 40% of the taxable base.

The question raised

The DGT's ruling
