This Royal Decree regulates the direct granting of aid to research projects selected in international calls under the UNICO Chips JU-R&D programme, funded by Next Generation EU. It is based on Royal Decree-Law 36/2020, Article 22.2.c) of Law 38/2003, and Regulation (EU) 2023/1781. Selected projects must submit their aid application within 30 days of being notified of their selection, as established by the context of the calls and deadlines.
Companies participating in Chips JU-R&D international calls must act swiftly to submit their aid applications within the 30-day window. Technology company advisors must verify compliance with this deadline and ensure projects align with selection criteria. European and Spanish administrations will continue the evaluation and granting process under the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan framework.
