Royal Decree 1/2026 establishes a Professional Certificate in Management of closed-loop geothermal exchange installations within the Energy and Water vocational family. Curriculum and grades A and B are defined according to Royal Decree 659/2023. The certificate trains professionals in specific heating and energy management technology, focusing on closed-loop installations, and is included in the National Catalog of Professional Qualifications (art. 2).
Firms in energy and construction must integrate the new curriculum into their vocational training programmes to meet the new certification requirements (art. 3). Training centres must revise their study plans and course offerings. Professionals aiming for grades A or B must adhere to the established curriculum. There are no changes to submission deadlines or access to training.
